Hi WOOBLES!

I’m Jen.

I’m a “maker at” heart, an artist, and a people person.

And when I put those things together:

People + Art + Creating = AWESOMENESS !

Professionally, I’m a Senior UI/UX Designer who loves turning digital stuff into eye-catching, super easy-to-use experiences. I’m all about giving users exactly what they need—even if they don’t know they need it yet. Basically, my goal is to make things look awesome and work like a dream.

For over 25 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working for and with some amazing companies.

Where I learned UX Principles and Processes

Project Highlight

Joint Chiefs of Staff - Joint Training Tool

The Problem

Dug deep to figure out what was actually broken — turns out, it wasn’t just “the users need to try harder.” Got everyone on the same page so we weren’t fixing the wrong stuff.

The Joint warfighters needed a consolidated system to help create a reliable, realistic, and repeatable training environment for joint warfighters.

Initial Research and User Interviews

Stalked competitors (legally) and dissected industry trends like we were on a UX episode of CSI. Learned what to steal shamelessly and what to avoid like the plague.

Chatted with real users and let them rant, vent, and overshare — and honestly, it was gold. Their real-world stories saved us from making a “cool-looking but useless” product.

User Personas and Ecosystem

Built detailed personas so we weren’t designing for “average user Bob” who doesn’t actually exist. They became our imaginary friends (no judgment).

You can see a sample ecosystem here.

For the DoD project, there were six user types that needed focus.

Lo-fi Sketches

Threw down quick and dirty sketches — because it’s better to kill bad ideas early than after a full team review. Quantity over quality… until it wasn’t.

Wireframing and Prototyping

Created clickable prototypes so we could fail fast and fix faster. Basically, we built a playground where breaking things was encouraged.

Testing and Iteration

Watched users “use” (read: destroy) our soft launch and took notes like mad scientists. Every tweak made the product tougher, smarter, and more user-proof.

Ongoing User Input and Interaction

Kept the feedback loop open so we didn’t end up launching something users hated… again, not speaking from experience or anything.

Positive Results

Released a one-stop-shop product that users actually liked — and no, we didn’t have to bribe them. It incorporated the best of what had already existed, and made large leaps to eliminate the paint points we had observed. Also made leadership smile, which is way harder than it sounds.

Future Functionality and Forward Thinking

Spotted many future ideas and created a roadmap so the project wouldn’t get stuck in “good enough” land. Growth mindset: always on.

All That Being Said... I LOVE TO CROCHET!

WORKING FOR THE WOOBLES WOULD BE AN ABOSULUTE DREAM AND LIFE CHANGER FOR ME!

To work for The Woobles would be an absolute dream job for me! I crochet to relax, to give gifts to others, to make my own cozy blankets for EVERY ROOM IN MY HOME. I crochet toys for my kids, for my kids friends. I make blankets for complete strangers!

I BELIEVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY in the power and love that comes with a crocheted item and to have that be my focus in my work life would just be an absolute dream! I love your brand identity, your product (which I have bought and done in the past!), your story, and would love to be a part of your future vision!
